In observance of Veterans Day, The Veterans National Entertainment Workshop and the Battleship Iowa honor veterans - living and deceased - for their service and sacrifices with a FREE ONLINE CONCERT featuring veterans and active military performing songs of unity, togetherness and friendship.
In these difficult pandemic times with social and economic hardship, we hold to the values of service and support, the power of unity, and the legacy of “working together” that have made this country strong. What better way to come together than joining in rousing, inspiring music performed by our veterans. Songs will include popular rock, folk, and pop covers by the Beatles, Andrew Gold, Matisyahu and more. The concert will be hosted by BJ Lange, retired U.S. Air Force medic, and will feature a special song by world-renowned soprano Renée Fleming.

In observance of Patriot Day, The American Legion Ronald Reagan-Palisades Post 283 and The Veterans National Entertainment Workshop honor the heroes on the front lines of the pandemic with a special concert featuring first responders U.S. military veterans & active duty personnel and essential workers performing original and popular songs.
The concert features Special Salutes from Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti; California Secretary of State Alex Padilla; LA County Supervisor 1st District Hilda Solis; Rudy Ortega, Jr., Tribal President and Mark Villaseñor, Vice President, Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians; impressionist/author/actor Rich Little and Loretta Swit from the television show M*A*S*H.CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE CONCERT
The VNEW 2019 Veterans Concert took place on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga Canyon California. Veteran singers and musicians from as far away as Nashville, St. Louis and Texas and as close as down the road in Topanga Canyon performed their own songs and popular standards.
Veteran BJ Lang was our Master of Ceremonies. Keith Carrington, Richard Desiato, Andy Hill, Renee Safier, Oscar Jordan, Tony Selvage, The Swing Dolls, Gleni Tai, Jorge Valcárcel and Boxcar and Renée Wahl performed. California State Senator Bob Archuleta, Chair of the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs, 32nd Senate District, gave a rousing speech to welcome the crowd. Mark Villaseñor, Vice President of the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians opened the concert with a tribal blessing.
